So what do all these people have in common? Yup....all guaped up, but it's not album sales driving their net worth. Vibe ran down the 12 biggest power moves of the year...here's a few of my favorites...
The Rapper: 50 Cent
The Power Move: Receiving his boxing promoter's license in Nevada in October, which will allow him to promote boxing events through his SMS Promotions company moving forward
What's Next? As if 50 hasn't made enough money rapping, acting, and pushing Street King energy drinks, now he'll be able to collect percentages of multimillion-dollar purses by promoting boxing matches. Look for his first few events to take place next year.
The Rapper: Nicki Minaj
The Power Move: Signing a reported $12 million deal in September to be a judge on the next season of American Idol.
What's Next? Beginning early next year, Nicki will sit next to Mariah Carey, Keith Urban, and Randy Jackson as one of the judges of AI. That should propel her to new heights and help her land even more endorsement deals that the ones she already has with companies like Pepsi
The Rapper: Lil Wayne
The Power Move: Starting his Trukfit clothing line and getting it into all Macy's stores in May
What's Next? Outside of his Trukfit deal, Weezy also has a sneaker line coming out through Supra that will hit stores at the top of next year.
The Rapper: Jay-Z
The Power Move: Performing at the Barclays Center for eight straight nights at the end of September and the beginning of October to help christen the new home arena of the NBA's Brooklyn Nets
What's Next? At this point, who knows? Every single year, Jay surprises us by doing something that we never could have imagined him doing. So, we'd expect nothing less in 2013.
The Rapper: Diddy
The Power Move: Announcing that he is starting a music-themed cable network called Revolt in January
What's Next? The Revolt network is scheduled to launch in 2013. Diddy will also continue to rake in money from the various deals he's done with brands like Ciroc as well.
