Some people I know want to ban it because of the killing of so many innocent turkey. Other want to ban it because they feel it's partially responsible for our countries obesity epidemic. What does Thanksgiving mean to you?
Most of my family have a better relationship with food than we do each other.... Food First Family Second! Not that we don't love each other, but food didn't beat you up, steal your stuff, call you names and torment you. Food was what my salvation and always there when I needed it.
Not until I was in my late teens, did I decide improve my looks and get lean. First thing I had to do is look at my relationship with food... and what I saw wasn't pretty. Changing my relationship with food was step one on the road to changing my thoughts about Thanksgiving.
Everyday I meet and speak with people that have a relationship with food that is dangerous. Thanksgiving Day is to a food addict like St. Patrick's Day to an alcoholic... Create new affirming habits.... if you think food first when you think Thanksgiving it's hard to enjoy the day guilt free.

Taking Booty Measure
Unlike traditional pound measurements, which don’t account for height variations, the waist-to-hip ratio, calculated by dividing your waist measurement at its smallest point by the circumference of your hips at their widest point, appears to be a more accurate predictor of future health problems. Healthy for women is 0.70. to 0.88; healthy for men is 0.90 to 0.95.
Abdominal girth alone is also a helpful tool. Measured at its widest part, a waist circumference of over 35 inches for women and over 40 for men is considered obese.
How to Battle Your Extra Booty Bulge
Whether you're developing to much booty fat at a young age or in midlife, the good news is you can fight it off through balanced nutrition and targeted exercise.
That means lighten up on processed foods and stick to fresh vegetables, fruits, nuts, legumes and lean protein. Also, avoid trans fats—now listed on all nutrition labels—since this kind likes to stick around. Finally, anti-inflammatory foods like extra virgin olive oil, walnuts and broccoli can help lower the damaging activity of visceral abdominal fat.
Exercise, of course, goes hand in hand with proper nutrition. At least 60 minutes of moderate daily exercise, is your best defense against harmful fat.
